Independent Booksellers Day
The Pear Tree Shop, an independent bookstore located on Broadway and 5th Street, East Liverpool, will be celebrating Independent Booksellers Day Saturday. This annual event highlights the important role that independent bookstores play in our communities. To mark the occasion, The Pear Tree Shop will be offering customers a special promotion: for every purchase of $10 or more, customers will receive a free "mystery" book. In addition, the store will be offering discounts on select books, and there will be a gift basket drawing for customers to enter. Blood drive on May 2
First Free Methodist Church, 16260 St. Clair Ave., East Liverpool, is sponsoring a blood drive from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. May 2 with the American Red Cross. Donors are encouraged to sign up online at redcrossblood.org or by calling 800-Red-Cross or through their Blood App. Making an appointment helps avoid long wait times. Completing RapidPass on the day of the drive reduces the time it takes to process a donation.
