Stream clean
Columbiana Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD), Pondi's Restaurant, and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Natural Areas and Preserves are hosting a stream clean-up from 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, April 15. The clean-up will focus on the Middle Fork of Little Beaver Creek in Lisbon. Volunteers are needed and registration is required. Registrants will be provided with more information, supplies for the clean-up, and refreshments.
Memorial Day
The Hookstown Grange Memorial Day car cruise is scheduled from noon to 3 p.m. May 28 at the Hookstown Fairgrounds, 1198 state Route 168, for all makes and models. Arrive at the area before 10:30 a.m. to watch the parade. The road will be closed from 10:30 a.m. to noon. There will be free entry, parking, and admission. The event will include a 50/50 raffle and food. Proceeds benefit the Hookstown Grange. For information contact Mike Elliott at 724-573-9377.
Spring clean up
The city of New Cumberland will be holding its annual spring clean up from April 20 to 22 at the municipal garage. Thursday and Friday hours are from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday hours are from 8 a.m. until noon. Do not bring TVs, tires, household garbage, paint, solvents, chemicals, oil, or construction materials. The service is only available to New Cumberland residents.
