LISBON - Stage Left Youth Players will release their online scheduled stream of the classic musical "Guys & Dolls" at 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, March 6, 12 and 13 and 2 p.m. Sundays, March 7 and 14, 2021. While the doors of the historic Trinity Playhouse remain closed due to the pandemic, the cast of 21 seventh to 12th graders, under the direction of Kandace Cleland and Jodine Pilmer, rehearsed and recorded their performance accompanied by a live orchestra.
Cleland reminds interested patrons that scheduled streaming means patrons have to watch the shows at 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and at 2 p.m. on Sundays. These are not 24 hour download links. Those rights were not available for this show.
Interested patrons can purchase links to stream their performance by visiting StageLeftPlayers.org/tickets. Online admission is $12 for single viewers and $40 for the "family pass."
Streaming is presented by special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
Lisbon senior Jackson Cornwell, as the high-rolling gambler Sky Masterson, expressed his thanks to the community which has helped Stage Left Players pay the bills.
"I never imagined we would be able to stage our junior/senior high show this year. Then the county came through with Cares Act funds on top of the donations from so many generous people," he said. Grace Beil, who portrays Sgt. Sarah Brown added, "We're grateful to our Stage Left family and friends who made it possible for us to create community theatre during the pandemic. Now it's time to enjoy the show we created for everyone."
