EL vaccine clinic
EAST LIVERPOOL -- The East Liverpool City Health District will be offering a walk-in COVID-19 vaccine clinic from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 18 at East Liverpool Community and Learning Center for eligible patients. This includes all persons age 50 and older and the following: persons working in law enforcement, corrections, child care services, schools, funeral homes and health care. Also eligible are renal disease patients and pregnant women. Three hundred (300) doses of the single-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccination will be administered on a walk-in basis. For patients seeking the two-dose Moderna vaccine, please call 330-385-5123 to schedule an appointment for Tuesday morning.
Free training begins with you
The Columbiana County Faith-Based Collaborative, will sponsor a free training via Zoom on March 19. "It Starts With You: What Can You Do?' will provide participants with information about treatment options for individuals with mental health or substance use disorders, as well as resources available. Participants will also learn how to effectively communicate and provide help to individuals and families who are affected by these issues. An optional training on suicide prevention will also be provided. The target audience for this training includes pastors, lay leaders, and other church leadership; church members; greeters and volunteers; church administrators and office staff; and representatives from local faith-based service organizations. The training will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.. The optional Question, Persuade, Refer Suicide Prevention training will begin at 11:45 and last approximately one hour. Easter Treats

Easter Trunk or Treat
WELLSVILLE -- The Eyes On Wellsville group will be hosting its annual Easter event this year from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 27 at Hammond Park, and they want your help. According to Kari Daniels, due to the pandemic, this year's event will be a Trunk or Treat Easter funny-style, and they are seeking people to attend the event to pass out candy and decorate their vehicles. Daniels explained, "We are asking for wrapped candy or treats or small toys to be put in treat bags. Monetary donations also are being accepted." Eyes on Wellsville is a not-for-profit group that organizes a variety of youth-oriented activities for the community, including the annual Easter egg hunt, Haunted Trail and toy drive. Daniels concluded by asking that anyone who wants to participate arrive by 11 a.m. at Hammond Park to get ready. For more information on the event, Daniels can be reached at 330-303-6394.
PTA offers 'Egg My Yard!'
Another new tradition is underway at North Elementary school! This year we would like to bring some EGG-tra fun with "Egg My Yard!" The PTA will place pre-filled eggs with candy and toys in your yard for your kids to wake up to. Pick the number of eggs you would like delivered & leave the rest to us. The PTA will leave a fun sign on your front door letting your kiddos know how many eggs to search for. The deadline is March 17, deliveries will be made the last weekend in March (26th, 27th &28th). Find us online on Facebook where you can pay by Venmo and pick the quantity of eggs you would like! Addresses need to be within 10 miles of North Elementary.
