Salem Regional Medical Center adds to medical staff
Jason A. Boyd, M.D.
SALEM–Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC) welcomes fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon Jason A. Boyd, M.D., to its medical staff. As of Sept. 3, Dr. Boyd is joining Dr. Lee Simon and Dr. Dominic Peters at Salem Orthopaedic Surgery in the Orthopaedic Bone & Joint Center at SRMC, 1995 E. State St. in Salem.
“Bone, muscle or joint pain can keep many people from the activities they enjoy,” Dr. Boyd said. “I look forward to offering my patients the latest treatment options to reduce their pain and get them back to moving as quickly and safely as possible. This includes providing a wide range of orthopaedic procedures for sports and work-related injuries, arthritis, chronic tendon pain and other conditions. My special interests include sports medicine, ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, shoulder arthroscopy, shoulder replacement, knee arthroscopy and fracture care.”
A graduate of The University of Akron, Dr. Boyd received his Doctor of Medicine from the Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). He went on to complete his Orthopaedic residency training at Summa Health System, followed by fellowship training in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at Emory University in Atlanta, where he served as associate team orthopaedic surgeon to the Atlanta Falcons and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Dr. Boyd’s professional memberships include the American Orthopaedic Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has also served as a Clinical Instructor of Orthopaedic Surgery at NEOMED.
Dr. Boyd’s wife, family medicine physician Elaine Chung Boyd, M.D., also recently joined SRMC’s medical staff and will be practicing at the Columbiana Family Care Center.

Elaine Chung Boyd, M.D.
SALEM–Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC) welcomes board-certified family medicine physician Elaine Chung Boyd, M.D., to its medical staff. As of Sept. 3, Dr. Boyd is joining Dr. Vidya Counto at Columbiana Family Care Center to provide a full range of health care services to area residents.
“I’m excited to join Dr. Counto and the staff at the Columbiana Family Care Center,” said Dr. Boyd. “As a family medicine physician, I care for patients of all ages, with the goal of helping them to achieve their best health during every stage of life. The services I provide include preventative and wellness care, sick visits, chronic disease management and health education. I also have special interest in women’s health care and contraceptive counseling, including Nexplanon® placement and removal, and perform minor procedures and joint injections for my patients.”
A graduate of Youngstown State University, Dr. Boyd received her Doctor of Medicine from the Northeast Ohio Medical University. She then completed her residency training in Family Medicine at Summa Akron City Hospital. Prior to joining the Columbiana Family Care Center, Dr. Boyd was a Family Medicine physician with University Hospitals Portage Family Medicine in Streetsboro.
Board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Boyd’s professional memberships include the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Boyd’s husband, orthopaedic surgeon Jason Boyd, M.D., also recently joined SRMC’s medical staff and will be practicing at Salem Orthopaedic Surgery.

Anna Orlando, D.O.
SALEM–Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC) welcomes internal medicine physician Anna Orlando, D.O., to its medical staff. As of Sept. 3, Dr. Orlando is joining family medicine physician Dr. Maria Ryhal at SRMC Primary Care in Lisbon, and will offer a full range of primary care services for patients 18 and older.
“I’m looking forward to serving patients from Lisbon and the surrounding areas and partnering with them to achieve good health,” Dr. Orlando said. “As an internist, I specialize in providing personalized care that is tailored to meet the unique needs of adults, from the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses to well visits. I also focus on helping patients take an active role in their health through preventative care, routine screenings, disease management and health education.”
Dr. Orlando graduated from The University of Akron and received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Va. She then completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at University Hospitals – St. John Medical Center in Westlake, Ohio. Her professional memberships include the American College of Physicians and the American Osteopathic Association.
