KSU to host Culture Fair

EAST LIVERPOOL -- Kent State University at East Liverpool is hosting its fifth annual Culture Fair 11:30 a.m. Thursday, in the Slak Shak located in Purinton Hall. This year's fair will highlight the culture, art, music and food of Eastern Europe.
Students in Dr. Lydia Rose's sociology classes will showcase their undergraduate research through posters, papers and videos. There will be food samples representing the various countries, as well as various artifacts.
Countries featured will include Armenia, Austria, Belarus, Bosnia, Balgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, the Ukraine and others.
Rose is an assistant professor of sociology at KSU and the director of research in the social science research lab. Research for the culture fair is being submitted from students in three of her classes: introduction to sociology; wealth, poverty and power; and family patterns: global perspective. Students in her researching sociology class will evaluate research paper submissions.
The food is being catered and the public is invited to attend the free event.
