Free day of pampering offered to those affected by breast cancer

WELLSVILLE -- With October being recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, many businesses and organizations throughout the country are recognizing those who have fought that battle, including a local day spa who will provide some free services for a day later this month.

Indulge Into Bliss Day Spa, located on Main Street in downtown Wellsville, will provide free services for customers 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29. Customers will have an opportunity to choose from one of four options--a massage, a facial, a manicure or a pedicure--which will be performed by the staff at no cost for the day.

According to owner/operator Joey Buxton, the services will be available for those who were affected by the disease, whether battling it themselves or in honor of someone else.

"It's not just for cancer survivors," Buxton said. "If you lost somebody, like your mother or your sister, you're welcome to come too, of if you were affected in any way."

Indulge Into Bliss will offer the free services again this year, having previously done so to a tremendous response in 2014 when the spa was then located in the Oakmont Plaza in Calcutta. The spa is now housed in the former Mills Insurance Agency building, having opened in February and celebrating its grand opening in March.

"We wanted to do something, and we didn't know if we wanted to donate money or what we wanted to do, and we decided, why not give these people a day of just pampering and make them feel good because a lot of them have never, like the ones who have already called, they've never had a massage before," Buxton said. "So, like a day of just pampering."

While the aforementioned services will be available at no cost for the day, Buxton recommends customers schedule an appointment in advance so they can  receive the free services as spaces will fill quickly.
