WEIRTON -- After judging more than 3,000 coloring sheets received from local children, the winners of the Weirton-Wellsburg Chapter Coloring Contest have been chosen.
Entries were submitted by students from Hancock and Brooke counties, along with members of the area Credit Unions. The children were recognized at the Oct. 12 meeting of the Weirton-Wellsburg Chapter of Credit Unions. Each student received $25, a personalized winner's certificate from the Credit Unions and a souvenir picture.
Weirton Mayor Harold Miller presented the certificates to the children. This is the 13th year the Credit Unions have held the coloring contest in recognition of International Credit Union Day.
