BCAAR announces executive appointment

NEGLEY -- The Beaver Creek Area Association of Realtors (BCAAR) has announced the naming of Dale Meller, of Negley, to the position of administrative executive, as of Oct. 1.

Meller has a background in sales, sales management, education, and real estate sales.

He takes over for Beth Hilbert, who is retiring.

County CAA taking HEAP, PIPP applications

LISBON -- Community Action Agency of Columbiana County is taking applications for State HEAP and Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP Plus) at the Lincole Place offices in Lisbon.

Neither program, however, will offer immediate assistance with utility bills.

Applications for State HEAP are available at post offices, libraries, and utility companies throughout Columbiana County.  For more information on State HEAP, call 1-800-282-0880.

If the required information is not presented to complete the application, applicants will be required to schedule another appointment or bring the information back during walk-in hours.

The programs are income based and applicants must bring the following items to their appointment:  social security numbers for everyone in the household, birth certificates for everyone in the household, proof of any child support paid or received, and proof of gross income for the last 90 days or 12 months for all members of the household.  Proof of income may include the following:  pay stubs for the last 90 days, unemployment, proof of Social Security benefits, pension, cash assistance, self employment records (IRS form 1040 with schedule C/CZ), utility subsidy, and odd jobs.

Any information provided by clients will be retained and may be shared with the utility company.

Households with a member who is classified as permanently and totally disabled must provide proof at the time of the interview.
