BLOOMINGDALE – For the first time, Jefferson County Joint Vocational School has a full-time technology coordinator, Ron Peach.
Peach began his duties on Aug. 1 and will help provide resources to the school as it trains its students in an evolving high-tech world, officials said. Among his responsibilities are maintaining the network infrastructure, computers, printers, file access and e-mail accounts at the site.
He attended Edison Local Schools but graduated from Toronto High School and has attended DeVry University and Franklin University. Peach started a company in the 1990s and operated four Trec Computers stores in Steubenville, Wintersville, Cadiz, and Calcutta. He operated his business for 10 years and closed his last store in 2003, after which he decided to switch gears and work with area schools. He would return to Edison as a technology coordinator and held that position for seven years before working with East Liverpool City Schools. He held that post for the past three years and then made the move to the JVS.
