WEIRTON – In the span of four months, CHANGE Inc. received the highly-competitive Substance Abuse Service Expansion Grant, the Health Infrastructure Investment Program Grant and the Oral Health Service Expansion Grant, all of which will assist in expanding the services of CHANGE and expand upon the Patient Centered Medical Home model for the residents of Hancock, Brooke and Jefferson counties.
CHANGE Inc. is a federally-qualified Health Center (FQHC) and community action agency servicing Hancock and Brooke counties in West Virginia and Jefferson County in Ohio as well as surrounding communities. It has brought in more than $17 million to help the Ohio Valley residents obtain access to medical, dental, vision and behavioral health needs since their opening.

The Substance Abuse Service Expansion Grant was awarded in March and enabled CHANGE to increase the number of behavioral health providers and begin providing substance abuse services, including medication assisted treatment, to the Ohio Valley.
The Health Infrastructure Investment Program Grant awarded in April enabled the renovation of the Weirton location to expanded services and will create a Patient Centered Medical Home for the residents of Brooke, Hancock and Jefferson Counties.
In June, CHANGE received word it was awarded the Oral Health Service Expansion Grant, which will enable the expansion of dental services to the new Family Medical Care Community Health Center location set to open in Newell, in August.
CHANGE has four locations throughout the Tri-State – Newell, Weirton and Wintersville, as well as a school-based health center at Weirton Elementary.
