Columbiana County Sheriff
A white pickup was reported stopped on Rochester Road, West Township, at 8:26 a.m. Tuesday, taking photos of the caller’s home and vehicles. She was concerned because numerous vehicles have been stolen in her neighborhood or had someone break into them recently. The vehicle had a circular emblem on the driver’s door, which appeared to have writing inside of it.
Deputies responded to an alarm at a home on Ganders Flat Road, Elkrun Township at 2:21 p.m. Monday where the homeowner was sitting on the patio and said they forgot to shut that alarm off.
A Depot Road, Center Township, woman reported at 3:09 p.m. Monday a friend gave her a Snapchat code of a man, who would help her out financially. She gave the man information and then discovered someone made multiple charges above $5,000 to her bank account, which she did not have the money for in the bank. She went to PNC and they closed her account and told her to destroy her bank card and file a report.
Deputies responded to a Rauch Road, Unity Township, home at 7:12 a.m. Sunday for an alarm, but the homeowner told them it was a false alarm when they arrived.
A Circle Drive, West Township, resident reported at 6:19 a.m. Monday someone repeatedly beat on her door and rang her doorbell. Someone also went through her mail, but she did not believe anything was stolen. Both her mail and her neighbor’s mail were taken out of the mailbox and stood up neatly in the flower bed nearby.
A Bayard Road, West Township, resident reported at 9:08 a.m. Wednesday on two occasions, two children came on the property and into his horse barn. The children are on his camera, but he does not know who they are.
A state Route 644, Washington Township, woman reported at 11:48 p.m. Friday there were possible trespassers in the woods around their home. They can hear their voices and believe it may be teens walking around. When she tries to confront them, they run. Deputies checked the area, but did not locate anyone.
