While on patrol near the Home Savings on West Lincoln Way, Lisbon, deputies found two men leaning over an elderly woman sitting in the gutter with her legs folded beneath her and another woman there helping them. Donna Jackson, a new resident at the Vista Center, needed to go to the bank and her son, Larry Heaton, had made arrangements for Charles Corbett to pick them up and take them to the bank. On the way back to the van, Jackson had gotten to the curb and collapsed into the gutter. She said she was not in pain. Lt. Allan Young and Chief Deputy Kip Dowling lifted her to her feet and into the back seat of the van. She seemed very tired and showing other signs of fatigue, so KLG was called to check her vital signs. She was then taken back to the nursing facility by Heaton.
A Greenwood Road man reported at 12:23 p.m. Monday someone dumped trash on the property behind his, which he believes has an official address on Middle Beaver Road. He retrieved an envelope out of the trash, which had the address of Huston Road, East Liverpool, and the name of Bristen Lavant on the envelope.
A Westville Lake Road, Knox Township, man reported at 4:34 a.m. Monday his black 2016 utility trailer was stolen from his driveway by someone in a pickup truck. A Donald Trump sticker was on the back right wheel well.
A Kibler Road, Unity Township, woman reported her neighbors on Walnut Grove were playing loud music at 2:24 p.m. Monday, but the music stopped about 30 minutes before deputies arrived on the scene.
Shooting was reported in the area of state Route 45, Salem Township, at 1:50 p.m. Sunday. Deputies talked to the man, who said the neighbor was shooting a gun and the man did not feel the neighbor should be shooting so close to his property. Deputies went to the neighbor's house and to the son of the neighbor, who was visiting, recently bought a firearm and was shooting it in his dad's backyard. He told deputies he was finished shooting. Deputies determined where he was shooting was legal, but the son said he would not do so anymore if the neighbor had an issue with it.
Someone next door to the Burtzl and Outfitters range reported at 2 p.m. Monday people were shooting there unsafely and the rounds were ricocheting around his property. The rounds were reportedly being fired from a high powered rifle in fast succession. He was working around his garage, when he said he heard the rounds going over his head. Deputies went to the business to speak with the employee working at the time. She showed deputies the range, which had targets positioned in front of a mound of dirt about 35 to 40 feet high. The targets were lower than the bench so rounds should be going slightly downward. It did not seem clear how the rounds could be ricocheting the way the neighbor described.
An employee of the Community Action Agency reported at 1:24 p.m. Monday someone entered the homeless shelter on state Route 45 in Salem Township over the past few days, stealing a flat screen TV from the mount on the wall. It appeared the building had been entered through the front window.
