Paul W. and Phyllis (Medley) Taylor of Calcutta celebrated 70 years of marriage May 28.

The couple was married May 28, 1954 by a justice of the peace.

Paul is a retired educator, having served as superintendent at Beaver Local from 1981-1985, and retired from Murray Trucking in 2008.

Phyllis is a homemaker who worked and retired from Farm & Power in 1982.

They are members of the First United Methodist Church in East Liverpool. Paul is also retired from the Columbiana County Mental Health Board.

Paul and Phyllis were feted at a family celebration by their children Susan Taylor and William Taylor of Calcutta and Carol Herson and Linda Stein of Atlanta, Ga.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
