Girls flag football recognized by OHSAA

COLUMBUS – The Ohio High School Athletic Association has elevated girls flag football to a fully recognized sport for the 2026-27 school year, following a unanimous vote of the OHSAA Board of Directors at its June meeting. Girls flag football becomes the OHSAA’s 29th recognized sport, including 15 sports for girls and 14 for boys. CLEVELAND — Cleveland Cavaliers draft pick Meleek Thomas honed his skills in Midland, Pa. Thomas, a 6-foot-3 freshman guard from Arkansas, was the 34th pick in the NBA draft on Wednesday night. He played his first three seasons of high school basketball at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School, leading the Leopards to PIAA Class 4A state championships in 2023 and 2024. Sunset Dip makes a splash with runners

COLUMBIANA — The fifth annual Sunset Dip 5K was held on June 9 at Firestone Park. A portion of the proceeds will go toward Firestone Park pool maintenance.
