COLUMBUS — East Liverpool senior Lani Rudibaugh had her best day of the 2026 bowling tournament trail Saturday. She finished 29th at the Ohio Division II girls state bowling tournament with a 504 series at H.P. Lanes. Rudibaugh had games of 188-141-175. She was ninth at the sectional tournament. Coldwater featured the top two finishers. Senior Brittany Burden won the individual state title in her first state berth with a 640 series (198-229-213). Cowan, McGonigal win sectional titles

CLAYMONT — East Liverpool’s Paige Cowan won at 125 pounds and Alanna McGonigal captured first at 179 to lead the Potters’ girls wrestling team on Sunday at the sectional meet at Claymont High School. Also for the Potters, Kera Coil finished second at 145, while Nariyiah Monterio (120) was third and Asia Momam (155) was fourth. CALCUTTA — Beaver Local’s boys basketball team is a different beast with senior Owen Hill in the lineup. Using Hill’s 19 points, the No. 4 seeded Beavers rolled past No. 8 Minerva 59-36 on Friday. Hill was back in the lineup after resting a foot injury in the Beavers’ regular season finale against South Range on Feb. 17. With Hill in the lineup the Beavers are an impressive 14-3.
