Continued failings of politicians, media

To the Editor: Just a brief letter to point out the continued failings of our politicians and the media. I walked into the TV room on Feb. 17 and caught the tail end of a political spokesperson stating that Russia, if sanctioned, will institute a cyber attack on the USA. Why would you even acknowledge what they may do? Do they like frightening the people of this country? I say “Yes, they love headlines.” Then, that same intellectual giant proceeded to say that based upon “government intelligence,” the most vulnerable area to attack would be (not something I will pass on). ...

Lions Club members will serve under a new name

Supporting Liverpool Township trustees

To the editor: As I previously stated, I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly in our (Liverpool) township as I have voluntarily served the township for over 25 years as chairman of the zoning commission and zoning board of appeals. My experience with these three trustees has been very positive and in my opinion, they have done the most to improve the township during my 25-year ...

School nutrition programs play a massive role supporting kids through school meals, pantries, and much more. Across the country, around 30 million students participate in the school lunch program, including nearly one million kids in Ohio. Yet, this year, school nutrition professionals are facing an immense set of ...

Mental health issues are a big concern

To the editor: Mental health is a very concerning topic at this point in every one’s life. Mental health is very prevalent in the United States of America and in the last fifteen months, mental illness and suicide rates have increased significantly due to COVID-19. Mental health is everywhere, it may be you, your neighbor, your boss or coworker, someone in your family or even a stranger working a functionally normal life. With mental illness on the rise, you would assume that resources would be too, but sadly the answer to that is no. Some wanting to talk to someone and searching ...
