Dear Editor:

How very gratifying it was to read that the Rotary Club has taken on a project to refurbish the pool at Thompson Park. What a wonderful community project, and this group should be commended.

After reading (online) about the endeavor, I immediately sent a check to Jeff Smith. Contact has been made to band members from my time at ELHS to help in any way they can.

My Reason: As a child (1944-48) in grades 4-8, everyday was spent trudging up the dirt road from the East End (along with many other friends) to get to the pool as soon as it opened. Therefore, I owe the pool to help in any way I can.
