Michael Aaron Gubesch reported at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday he spent about 60 days in the jail and while he was there his personal belongings and clothes were stolen from him.
n A suspicious person was reported in the area of Depot Road in Center Township at 1:40 a.m. May 15. Joseph K. Stolzfus reported he saw someone wearing pink leggings standing outside his front door and when he got up to look outside, the person had walked away. Deputies checked the surrounding woods and properties, finding a vehicle with a cool engine abandoned west of Stolzfus' home, but did not find any people. Deputies waited for awhile to see if the driver returned to the vehicle and then had it towed from the roadway.
A Mick Road, Yellow Creek Township mother reported on Thursday afternoon, her young daughter received a threatening text message from another child.
A panic alarm was reported at the home of Wendy S. Blackburn, Melissa Lane, Minerva, at 10:08 a.m. Thursday. Blackburn told deputies her granddaughter is able to reach the keypad and play with the buttons. She called the security company and canceled the call, but Carnation Security did not call the sheriff's office to relay the message.
Deputies responded to an alarm on Macklin Road at 9:59 p.m. Thursday, where they found only a window cracked and no signs anyone had gotten inside.
A Depot Road, Lisbon, woman reported at 6:46 p.m. Thursday she came home to find her husband, age 77, dead on the ground in the doorway. He reportedly had no known pre-existing health conditions and she had seen him at about 7 a.m. that morning. The coroner was called and the body was transported.
Margaret King, Cherry Street, Knox Township, reported Michael King forced his way into her home. She told deputies he did not threaten her, but when she shut and locked the door, he broke the door. She did not want to file charges, but told deputies Michael King has warrants in Minerva. Deputies explained if she lets him stay with her while he has warrants, she could be charged.
A child was reported burned by a camp fire on Beard Road in Unity Township at 9:25 p.m. Sunday. New Waterford EMS was transporting the child to the hospital with her mother, Miranda Pachner. Deputies spoke to Dustin Gregory, who told them the fire just exploded. While investigating, deputies learned the fire had been started by using gasoline and there were glass bottles found in the fire. Deputies believe Gregory poured gasoline into the fire pit to start it and some of the gas went into one of the bottles, which later ignited when the flames contacted it.
Some unsafe shooting was reported in the area of Butcher Road at 6:15 p.m. Sunday. Deputies spoke to Johnathan and Ashley Huston, who said they were shooting at a large box filled with sand in the backyard. Deputies did not see where any of the rounds which entered the front of the box exited the back of the box. They also were aware of where there was a house located behind their property. The owner of the woods behind their home told deputies he inspected the box a few days ago to make certain none of the rounds were going into his woods. The backstop was determined safe.
Ross and Bonnie Petree, Coldale Street, West Township, reported at 4:03 p.m. Monday their son, Tanner Petree, was intoxicated and needed to be removed. Bonnie Petree told deputies she told her son he had an AA meeting today and he threatened to split her lip. Additionally Ross Petree said their son had shoved him down. Neither party wanted to file charges, but they were tired of their son drinking. Tanner Petree left before deputies arrived.
Emma Grace Bortmas, Chestnut Lane, Hanoverton, reported at 1 p.m. Friday her ex-boyfriend threatened her and that he has also made threats in the past as well. A deputy told Bortmas she could go to the court house and file for a protection order.
Riley Mason, Pancake-Clarkson Road, Middleton Township reported at 3:33 p.m. Friday she received a phone call from a man claiming to be from the Social Security office and that he knew her full SSI number and address. A deputy told her to contact the Social Security administration to notify them of the situation.
A deputy was called to a home on Thomas Drive in Yellow Creek Township at 4 p.m. Friday to conduct a welfare check on children there. No one was home.
A deputy was called to a Washington Street home in Madison Township at 5:50 p.m. Friday for a report that a man was highly intoxicated and making suicidal threats due to the fact that he was going through a divorce. The deputy found the man laying face down on the porch with a Colt .38 special revolver laying beside him. The deputy noticed that the revolver was loaded with six rounds and one round was fired. The deputy also noticed multiple alcohol bottles laying around the man. The deputy then began speaking with the man and the man started throwing up due to being intoxicated. The deputy then pink-slipped the man, and he was taken to the Salem hospital by ambulance to be evaluated. The gun was taken into evidence for safe keeping.
Andrew Aderhold, Cemetery Road, Hanoverton, reported at 2:27 p.m. Thursday his 9 mm gun was missing. Shortly after, he reported that it was found and had just been misplaced.
Scott Bratt, Sprucevale Road, Middleton Township, asked deputies at 3:18 p.m. Saturday if a friend of someone who had a protection order out against him was allowed to message him. Deputies told him that it was not violating anything and that he needed to block the person's phone number if he did not want to hear from them.
A deputy attempting to serve court papers to a person on Geiselman Road in West Township at 6 p.m. Friday saw marijuana plants growing at the rear of the home. Teresa Crawford came out of the house and admitted the plants were hers. She was cited with possession of a controlled substance. Deputies pulled and destroyed 48 small pot plants .
Jacob Haut, Campbell Road, Hanover Township, reported at 4:45 p.m. Saturday his sister-in-law, Courtney Worth, was at his home arguing with family members and he wanted her to leave. Worth left while Haut was still on the phone with a deputy.
A deputy was called to 41753 Old Irondale Road in Yellow Creek Township at 7:11 p.m. Saturday for a report of a woman slumped over the steering wheel inside a truck. Highlandtown firefighters and Lifeteam Ambulance also responded and Lifeteam told the deputy a 6-year-old child was hanging out of the rear sliding window crying uncontrollably and the woman was passed out unresponsive across the passenger seat with the truck running while in park. The woman was identified as Samantha Adkins, Western Avenue, Canton, 30. She was charged with endangering children and taken to the county jail. The child was turned over to their father.
Annabelle Gessaman reported at 8:33 a.m. Sunday she saw two men and one woman outside her sister's home on Bayard Road in West Township and her sister was out of town. Gessaman said one of the men asked her if she was working that day and that she did not know the man by name but knows him because her sister knows him. Gessaman also reported she saw two other men going through her sister's vehicle and that she confronted them and they left. Nothing was missing from the vehicle.
A woman, name not listed, reported at 11:41 a.m. Saturday Matthew Cerarelli, the father of her daughter, took her daughter the night before and was refusing to return her per the court agreement and that she could not get in touch with him. A deputy also could not contact Cerarelli. Cerarelli later contacted the deputy and explained that he had taken his daughter to the zoo and had left his phone in the car. He also told the deputy this was supposed to be his weekend with his daughter and that he has filed with the courts about the custody issue. The deputy told the woman and Cerarelli to contact their attorneys and have contact with each other due to having a child together.
