Denise R. Blaner, Leslie Road, Madison Township, reported at 4:55 p.m. Thursday someone she knows came to the house, took a Matthews Compound Bow and attempted to pawn it at a pawn shop in West Virginia. The bow was recovered.
n Marchelle Witherow, Steubenville Pike, Wayne Township, reported at 7:42 p.m. Thursday her son, Quint Witherow, has been missing since Tuesday. A missing person's report was filed.
Two people from Mental Health requested assistance at an apartment on state Route 45, Salem, at 1:28 p.m. Thursday after a client told them she punched holes in the walls of the apartment. When the women from Mental Health had gone to the apartment to check on her, she would not answer the door. She was able to get her to respond to text messages. After negotiating for a while, the woman did come out to talk. Damage appeared to be to the plaster board under the bedroom window.
Deputies were asked to check on Thursday afternoon on an elderly man living in a home on state Route 45 after Arrow disposal noticed his garbage has not been set out for the past few weeks. Deputies spoke to a woman at the home who said the man is fine, but he is now living in the Circle of Care Nursing Home in Salem.
Erik M. Wagner, Winona Road, Salem, reported at 9:31 a.m. Friday someone he knows is suspected of taking items from his sister's home and pawning them at the Alliance Cashland. While looking into this, Wagner discovered some of the tools at Cashland might be his. He checked his garage and could not locate his Porter Wagner cable tools. Wagner stated he previously noticed some fishing gear was missing from the home a while ago and when he asked the person about them, the gear returned in a few days.
A deputy responded to an alarm drop at Majestic Rides on state Route 7 in New Waterford at 11:27 p.m. Thursday and found no problems.
Erich Law and his father Timothy Law reported at 1 p.m. Thursday they co-own a 2011 GMC pickup that was last parked at Erich Law's place of employment on U.S. 30 in East Rochester from Jan. 3 to Jan. 18 and that when Erich Law went out of state to work he left the vehicle there, and when he returned Thursday, he found his truck had been stolen. Timothy Law reported last seeing the truck in the parking lot on Thursday around 3 p.m. Erich Law also reported there were four Milwaukee cordless drills with chargers and a few hand tools inside the truck, as well as his checkbook. Erich and Timothy Law both reported the vehicle as stolen.
Charles Mead, Coffee School Road, Butler Township, reported at 3:21 p.m. Thursday someone he doesn't know used his Huntington Bank account to make five purchases amounting to $100.
Jack Graham, state Route 14, Unity Township reported at 5:33 p.m. Thursday a vehicle broke down at his home a few days ago and that he told the operator of the vehicle that it could stay there for a few days but would need to be moved. Graham said the operator had a Feezle's Towing move the vehicle but while the tow truck was backing it drove over gravel that was around a culvert, causing damage to the culvert system. Graham told a deputy that the company said they would take care of the problem but he wanted a report on file.
