Deputies responded Sunday afternoon to 45651 state Route 154 in Lisbon for a possible overdose, where a woman reported she caught her live-in boyfriend doing heroin the previous night and she threw the items away. On Sunday morning, he appeared sick so she called an ambulance. She told deputies she was sure he had not done any drugs Sunday.
Russell Coffman, state Route 644, Salineville, reported Sunday he received a call from someone he thought represented the IRS, saying he owed $5,000 in back taxes and was at risk of losing his home. He was afraid so did as the female asked and obtained $3,000 in Target gift cards and $2,000 in iTunes gift cards, giving her the information on the cards. Coffman was advised by deputies this was a scam and told to contact numerous other institutions since he had given out his Social Security number as well.
Denise Baker, McCormick Run Road, Salineville, reported Sunday morning that, overnight, her mailbox was vandalized. Neighbors' mailboxes also appeared to be destroyed, she advised.
Jack Graham, state Route 14, East Palestine, reported Saturday he was driving home with someone tailgating him and, when he pulled into his driveway, the white van followed him. A short argument ensued between Graham and the other driver and it became physical. Graham did not know the other man but wanted a report on file.
Tessa Neville, Hanover Road, Salineville, reported Saturday her live-in boyfriend, Jonathan Craven, wanted paperwork from her car but she didn't want him taking anything belonging to her and a verbal argument ensued, during which he grabbed her while trying to grab the paperwork. Craven told deputies he just wanted to get his things so he could leave but Neville was refusing to give him his belongings. Both signed a refusal to prosecute form, and a deputy stood by while Craven gathered his belongings and left.
