SALEM -- Enrollment information meeting for Hannah E. Mullins School of Practical Nursing is 2 p.m. May 3 at its facility on North Lincoln Avenue, Salem.
COLUMBIANA -- Crown Theater Productions presents "Peter Pan Jr." 2 p.m. May 5-6 at Main Street Theater in Columbiana. The special needs cast will walk the red carpet at 1 p.m. Cost is $13 general admission and can be purchased at crowntheaterproductions.org. Two performances at 2 p.m. May 5-6.
RICHMOND -- Edison band spring concerts have been set for 7 p.m. May 3 (grades 7-8) and 7:30 p.m. May 8 (grades 9-12) in the school auditorium. Donations accepted at door to benefit band program. Proceeds from the high school evening benefit the Jack Moorehead Band Scholarship Fund, which provides a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating band member.
COLUMBIANA -- Judge Carol Ann Robb of the Ohio Seventh District Court of Appeals will serve as special guest speaker during the 2018 National Peace Officers' Memorial Service, scheduled noon May 10 at The Links Banquet Center at Firestone Farms, Columbiana.
The local memorial service and luncheon is presented annually by the Fraternal Order of Police Quaker Lodge No. 88 of Salem, and honors officers locally and nationally who were injured or have been killed in the line of duty.
Quaker Lodge No. 88 will be among several lodges throughout the country that will hold services in observance of National Police Week, held in the middle of May, as well as Peace Officers Memorial Day, recognized nationally May 15.
Tickets for the local event are $10 and include a lunch buffet for those in attendance. Seating is limited. Tickets must be presented at the door.

CHESTER -- The city of Chester will celebrate its annual 4th of July celebration with the theme "United We Stand."
Organizers are asking area business, groups, organizations and individuals that wish to participate in the parade, or those interested in craft/food vendor show, to contact Susan Hineman (330-843-3215) or Mike Dotson (304- 670-9296)
Parade begins at 4 p.m. with lineup at 3 on Carolina and Virginia Avenues. Fireworks begin at 10 p.m. Entertainment by Route 45, Mad River Band, Todd Jones, and Blended Reality. Sharon Vinci will sing the National Anthem at the beginning of the parade.
The 5K Freedom Run Race begins 9 a.m.; pony rides available 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; bounce house and train rides for kids available; Duck Dash at noon; and Chester Lions Club Car Cruise is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at City Park.
