Democratic Women

WEIRTON -- The Hancock County Federation of Democratic Women held their monthly meeting on March 19, 2018 at Giovanni's Family Restaurant with President Kathy Link calling the meeting to order, welcoming those in attendance and leading the Pledge of Allegiance.

Silent attendance was taken.

Secretary Teresa McCombs advised that she had e-mailed the minutes of the January meeting to the members present at the meeting, however, if anyone did not get theirs by e-mail, she had some for distribution. The minutes were accepted. Treasurer Debbie Caine read the treasurer's report, which will be filed for audit.

There were no Chairmen reports.

All scholarship applications were distributed to the schools' guidance counselor.

Brooke County President Linda Arbogast invited the Hancock Democratic Women to their Meet and Greet at the Crooked Dock, Wellsburg at 2 p.m. on Sat., April 21. President Link made a motion that the Democratic Women make a donation to the cause. Seconded by Dina Carne's. Motion carried.

President Link advised that fundraising ideas will be discussed at the April meeting.

After further discussion, it was decided that the April meeting will be held at the Swaney Memorial Library, Court Street, New Cumberland.

With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

The next meeting will be held 5 p.m. Monday, April 16 at the Swaney Memorial Library, Court Street, New Cumberland.

The Federation welcomes new members. In order to promote membership, Chair Janet Lalich is hosting a membership drive. All Hancock County Democratic Women are invited to join the group and support our cause. Members are needed. Dues are $5 per person for the year and are due when you join.
