Village requests boat removal

WELLSVILLE — The village of Wellsville is requesting all boats currently docked/parked at the Jim Kenney Marina be immediately moved out of the Marina.

‘Teen Night Pizza Blast’ scheduled

EAST LIVERPOOL — A “Teen Night Pizza Blast” will take place 7-10 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, at Northside Church, Orchard Grove Avenue. Speaker is Josh Lytle of Family Care Ministries. All teens welcome.

Aglow begins fourth season

EAST LIVERPOOL — Aglow East Liverpool Chapter is starting its fourth season with a meet and greet “The Faces of Aglow” on Tuesday, Aug. 15, at the Salvation Army, East Fourth Street, East Liverpool. Speakers include Candace McCoy, Erica Flowers, Leanna Headley, Janet Nentwick, and Julie Brammer.

New pastor at Fredericktown Christian

FREDERICKTOWN — The congregation of the Fredericktown Christian Church is proud to announce Jim Equels Sr. as its new pastor.

A resident of Brighton Township, Beaver, Pa., he and his wife, Arlene, have been married for four years. Together they have five children and several grandchildren.

Jim was a manufacturing engineer for Westinghouse Electric. He served 30 years in the armed services — 15 years in the Air Force on active duty and another 15 in the Army as a reservist. He was a lay preacher for five years before becoming ordained in the ministry.

Jim earned his B.A. degree of ministry at North Eastern Bible College, a 2000 graduate.

Jim preached for eight years at Pine Flats Christian Church, Indiana, Pa., and also served as minister for the Shenango Christian church in New Castle, Pa., for eight years.

“We at the Fredericktown Christian Church are proud that Jim Equels Sr. will be leading our congregation,” a release reads. “The church extends a warm welcome to all those who know Jim or would like to hear him speak to come and join us in the fellowship of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.”

Sunday school is 10 a.m. and Sunday services begin at 11.

HEAP Summer Crisis Program

LISBON — Community Action Agency’s HEAP Summer Crisis Program (SCP) began on July 3 and runs through Aug. 31. Appointments for the HEAP Summer Crisis Program may be made by calling the automated phone service at 1-844-493-1198. Based on available staff, a limited number of walk-in applicants will be taken daily on a first-come first-serve basis from 8-9 a.m. The agency will stop taking walk-ins when the maximum number has been signed in for the day. Scheduled appointments begin at 9 a.m. Fridays will be walk-in appointments from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the duration of the program. CAC is located at 7860 Lincole Place (rear), Lisbon.
