STRUTHERS — Beaver Local and Struthers played to a 2-2 tie on Saturday at Cene Park.

The game was halted due to rain in the bottom of the ninth inning with two outs and a man on first for Struthers.

Paxton Grimes had an RBI double in the fifth inning. Braxton Hickman also had an RBI double.

Britton Hickman started for Beaver Local and went 7 2/3 innings with two strikouts and a walk. Andre Wiegand finished with two strikeouts and no walks in 1 1/3 innings.

Beaver Local (6-15-1) opens tournament play at Minerva on Tuesday.

Howland 13, Columbiana 0

WARREN — Howland’s Elliot Gebhardt and Sam Grzelewski combined for a no-hitter as Howland blanked Columbiana 13-0 in a completion of a suspended game on Saturday.

The two pitchers combined for four strikeouts and on walk.

Avery Young took the loss for Columbiana with no strikeouts and no walks in 2/3 of an inning.

Columbiana is 11-14 and hosts Lakeview on Wednesday.
