STEUBENVILLE — Alina Owens had three hits including two double and two RBIs as Wellsville’s softball team bested Steubenville 13-8 on Tuesday.

Makayla Landess had three hits. Makenzie Thompson added a double and four RBIs.

Landess was also the winning pitcher with 15 strikeouts and three walks.

Wellsville is 2-4 and is at Leetonia today.

WELLSVILLE — Columbiana broke free from five runs in the fourth inning to strike down Wellsville 12-4 on Tuesday in baseball action.

Hunter Davanzo had three hits and two RBIs. Avery Young, Dan Goehring and Max Conway had two hits and a double each.

Ethan Lehnerd was the winning pitcher with seven strikeouts and three walks.

Landon Ramsey had a double and two RBIs for the Tigers. Austin Watkins was the losing pitcher with three strikeouts and four walks in six innings.

Columbiana (3-3, 2-1 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference) hosts Lisbon today.

Wellsville is 0-3 and 0-2 in the EOAC and hosts Leetonia today.

Conotton Valley 15, Southern 4

BOWERSTON — It was a tough day for the Southern Local baseball team as Conotton Valley piled on the runs early for a 15-4 win on Tuesday.

Southern is 0-5.

Preston Pitts had two hits including a double with an RBI to lead Southern. Mason Pitts added a double.

Mason Pitts was also the losing pitcher as he tossed 1 1/3 innings with two strikeouts and four walks.

Southern will travel to Chaney on Friday.
