Potters snap skid
EAST LIVERPOOL –East Liverpool’s softball team snapped a 21-game losing streak with a 5-1 win over Wellsville on Thursday under the lights at Patterson Field.
Trinity Pearson had a single and triple for the winners. Addie Jones also had two hits, while K Evans had a single and double.
Cate Davis was the winning pitcher with no strikeouts and three walks.
Rylee Brown had two hits for Wellsville.
Makayla Landess was the losing pitcher with nine strikeouts and three walks in six innings.
East Liverpool (3-21) is at East Palestine on Monday.
Wellsville (6-9) is at Madonna on Saturday.

Beaver Local 11, Struthers 1
CALCUTTA — Megan Henrich rang up 10 strikeouts with no walks as Beaver Local cruised to its 11th straight win in an 11-1 rout of Struthers on Thursday.
Calleigh Eells led the Beavers with a single, double and three RBIs. Brylee Curtis and Brenna Jones had doubles. Addie Thurik had two hits.
Beaver Local (15-2) is scheduled to be at Crestview today.

UNITY — Lisbon had everything working in a 14-2 five-inning win over Heartland on Thursday at Ace of Diamonds.
Marah Householder had three singles for the Devils. Abby Ammon, Lexi Roush and Emelia Cook had two hits each.
Kamryn Peruchetti got the win with five strikeouts and one walk. The losing pitcher was Emily McDowell who had two strikeouts and one walk.
Lisbon is 6-10 and is at Salem on Saturday.

WELLSVILLE –Parker Newburn had two doubles, a single and three RBIs as United kept its top position in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference with a 10-1 win over Wellsville on Thursday.
Newburn also struck out 17 and walked one in the complete game effort.
Quentin Taylor added three hits for the Eagles. Kadin Schonauer and Carter Simmons had doubles.
Ethan Morris had a double for Wellsville. Landon Ramsey was the losing pitcher with six strikeouts and two walks.
United is 12-5 and 5-0 in the EOAC.
Wellsville is 2-12 and 1-8.
The Golden Eagles are at Salem today for a night game.
Wellsville is at Steubenville Central today.

COLUMBIANA –Columbiana scored 10 runs over the course of the fourth and fifth innings to down Beaver Local 11-2 on Thursday at Firestone Park.
Reese Roush had four hits for the Clippers, while Hunter Davanzo and Dan Goehring had two hits each including a double.
Avery Young got the win with eight strikeouts and five walks in seven innings.
Isaac Dailey had two hits and an RBI for the Beavers.
Britton Hickman took the loss with three strikeouts and a walk in 4 2/3 innings.
Columbiana (7-9) hosts Southern on Monday.
Beaver Local (2-12) hosts Minerva today.

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — A big sixth inning helped Oak Glen drop East Liverpool 13-6 on Thursday.
Christian Chappell had three hits including a triple with an RBI for the winners. Cam Carter had a single double and an RBI. Lucas Zoellers had two hits and two RBIs.
Chappell was the winning pitcher with four strikeouts and five walks in five innings.
Owen Davis had two hits for the Potters, 1-14. 10 took the loss with five strikeouts and four walks. Elliot Fitch had a home run, while Kooper Ramsey had a hit and two RBIs.
Oak Glen (9-13) hosts Harrison on Monday. East Liverpool is at East Palestine today.
