East Liverpool picks up first win of the season
MINERVA — East Liverpool’s baseball team won its first game of the season, 5-2, over Minerva on Saturday.
All the Potters’ runs came in the last two innings. Kooper Ramsey had a triple and three RBIs for the winners. Nate Birch had a double, while Dre Brown had a double.
Donovan Shallcross got the win with two strikeouts and two walks in seven innings.
East Liverpool (1-6) is at Harrison Central today.

Berkeley Springs
at Oak Glen (DH)
NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — Oak Glen’s baseball split with Berkeley Springs in a doubleheader on Saturday.
In the first game, Oak Glen won 11-4 with Lucas Zoellers having three hits and two RBIs. Christian Chappell, Maddox McKay and Cam Carter had two hits each for Oak Glen. Sam Jenkins had a double.
Noah Willey was the winning pitcher as he struck out three and walked one in seven innings.
Berkeley Springs won the second game 12-2 in six innings. Chappell had two hits including a triple for the Bears, while he also took the loss with three strikeouts and four walks in five innings.
Oak Glen (6-9) is at Wheeling Central today.

BELLAIRE — Bellaire scored 14 runs in the third inning to power past East Liverpool 23-4 in four innings Saturday.
For the Potters (0-11), Addie Jones had a single, double and an RBI. Cheyenna Taggart added two hits.
She was also the losing pitcher with three strikeouts and a walk in four innings.
East Liverpool is at Harrison Central today.
Williamstown
at Oak Glen (DH)
NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — Oak Glen extended its winning streak to six games as it beat Williamstown 12-1 and 8-0 on Saturday.
In the first game Riley Bruce had two hits including a triple with four RBIs for the winners. Addie Smith added a double.
Maddie Murray was the winning pitcher with six strikeouts in four innings.
In the second game, Danica Holden struck out seven and limited Williamstown to one hit.
She also had a double and RBI. Mattie Carney added a double. Marleah Lough had a hit and two RBIs.
Oak Glen (14-6) will be in Myrtle Beach all next week with six games planned from Tuesday through Friday.
