MINERVA — Beaver Local’s softball team won its 10th straight by blanking Minerva 4-0 on Wednesday.

Calleigh Eells and Ally Wright had doubles for the Beavers, 14-2.

Addie Thurik had five strikeouts and a walk in the winning effort.

Beaver Local hosts Struthers today.

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — Addie Smith had three hits including a double with two RBIs as Oak Glen routed Indian Creek 9-1 on Wednesday.

Riley Bruce, Mattie Carney and Danica Holden had two hits each for the Bears.

Carney got the win as she went five innings with 11 strikeouts and no walks.

Oak Glen is 20-8 and will host Harrison Central on Friday for its last game before the OVAC tournament.

CARROLLTON — East Liverpool’s softball team suffered a 13-8 loss to Carrollton on Wednesday.

The Potters are 2-21 and host Wellsville today.

Cate Davis had a double and triple for the Potters. Trinity Pearson had two singles, a double and an RBI. Addie Jones had two hits and an RBI. Lana Le also had two hits.

Jones was the winning pitcher with four strikeouts and a walk in six innings.

Southern 9, Wellsville 5

SALINEVILLE — Kennedy Lewis had four hits including a double with four RBIs as Southern stopped Wellsville 9-5 on Wednesday.

Cheyenne Buzzard added two hits and an RBI. Gianna Pecorelli had a double and two RBIs.

Addy Martin was the winning pitcher with two strikeouts and two walks.

Southern is 6-6 overall and 4-1 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference.

Rylee Brown had two hits and an RBI for the Tigers, 6-8 overall and 2-5 in the EOAC.

Makayla Landess took the loss with 11 strikeouts and three walks in six innings.

Southern is at Columbiana on Monday.
