Beaver Local placed fifth overall as team. Bobby Buchheit beat Louisville’s Aric Criss by a 10-0 major decision in the 138 pound final. Buchheit is 23-3 on the season and was also named the EOWL MVP. He outscored his opponents by 67-8 and also earned his 100th win at the tournament. At 157 pounds, Jake Hughes improved to 26-3 on the season with a technical fall win over Louisville’s Abel Bolyard.

Notes
¯ West Branch’s Marcus “Coy” Adelman was the recipient of the Brian Davidson Award, which is dedicated to the former Salem wrestler and 2008 EOWL Hall of Fame inductee who died days after his induction. The award is given to a member of the local wrestling community “who has been a strong, positive influence” in the sport.
Adelman suffers from Hirayama disease, a rare nerve condition which has sidelined Adelman from wrestling this season.

Bobby Douglas Wrestling Tournament
BRIDGEPORT – East Liverpool, with three individual champions, won the second annual Bobby Douglas Wrestling Tournament Saturday at the John J. Havlicek Gymnasium at Bridgeport High School.
The Potters finished with 202.5 points, which was 28 points better than Union Local, which had two titlists. St. Clairsville was a distant third with 154.5 and a champ.
“We wrestled really well today and came together as a team,” East Liverpool head coach Jeremy Shaw said. “I’m proud of the effort all the kids put forth today.”
Only two individuals repeated titles from the inaugural event, those being East Liverpool’s Kyle Ingram (106) and Union Local’s Gunnar Gossett (144). Gossett, by virtue of his day-long performance was the Most Outstanding Wrestler by tournament coaches.
Ingram posted a 7-2 decision over Buckeye Local’s Nathan Dentz.
Ten different teams claimed a champion as Tristan Eckles (120) and Damon Stansbury (165) joined Ingram as Potters who stood on the top step of the awards podium. Gossett was joined by younger brother, Gamble, in the champions circle.
Eckles won by a 13-2 major decision over Bridgeport’s Robert Weekley. Stansbury pinned Monroe Central’s Owen Howard in 1:15.
“Kyle and Tristan started the ball rolling there in the finals,” Shaw said. “That got us off to a good start.”
Wellsville’s Leland Monte also won at 215.
Finishing second for the Potters was junior Jayden Shaw at 157, sophomore Xavier Lara at 175 and sophomore Peyton Shaw at 190.
