Tigers even record
WELLSVILLE –Wellsville came into Saturday’s Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference battle with Leetonia already knowing it would not make the playoffs, but the Tigers hammered home a point in a 35-8 win over the Bears.
For the Tigers (4-4), Isaiah Greathouse had two rushing touchdowns and a 36 yard touchdown reception from Valen Krzyston to lead the way.
Garrett Krzyston also had a touchdown reception. Gavin Kountz scored on a short run and had a hand in a safety.
Jacob McCool scored a late touchdown for the Bears (1-5).
Hayden Cibula had six and half tackles and a sack for Leetonia.
Kasen Ramsey led the Tiger defense with four and half tackles.
The game was originally scheduled to be played on Friday but it was adjusted to allow more Leetonia players to emerge from quarantine.
Wellsville was fighting for a playoff spot in Div. VII, Region 25 on Friday but the results it needed to stay in contention on Saturday didn’t go its way.
Leetonia is scheduled to host Sebring next Friday in a regular season makeup game.
