Sebring pulls away from Wellsville; Southern posts sectional win

SEBRING — Sebring blew the doors off in the sixth inning for an 8-3 win over Wellsville softball on Monday.

The 16th-seeded Trojans scratched out four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and posted 14 hits on the day.

Olivia Hawk had three hits in four at-bats for Sebring.

Delaney Reggi, Kaylyla Caliguire, and Devyn Reggi all had two hits for the Trojans in the win.

Gia Pucci had three hits and two RBIs for the 17th-seeded Tigers.

Fairport Harbor 5

FAIRPORT HARBOR– Southern Local made the ride worth it.

The 23rd-seeded Indians knocked off 22nd-seeded Fairport Harbor Harding, 8-5, in a Division IV sectional opener Monday.

Southern will play at top-seeded Mathews at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Mathews is ranked fifth in the latest coaches state poll.

Meadowbrook 11, Beaver 2

BYESVILLE — No. 10 seed Meadowbrook defeated 15th-seeded Beaver Local, 11-2, in a Division II sectional opener Monday.

Meadowbrook advances to play at ninth-seeded Morgan on Wednesday.
