Potters gain first victory

EAST LIVERPOOL — East Liverpool’s softball team has taken its lumps this season but the Potters had a reason for optimism on Friday.

East Liverpool rallied for eight runs in the sixth to beat Southern 17-12. The Potters host Wellsville today.

Wellsville 19, Youngstown East 6

WELLSVILLE — Wellsville’s softball team topped Youngstown East 19-6 on Friday.

Jenna McNicol had two triples and two singles for the Tigers.

Brooklyn Carlson-Byrd, Ashley Durbin, Samantha Drysdale and Kenzie Nixon each had a single.
