Dailey had a special season

COLUMBUS — Five area standouts received mention on the Division II All-Ohio high school boys basketball team released by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association on Tuesday.

East Liverpool junior Cole Dailey received special mention, while East Liverpool junior Zavea Green, Salem junior Drew Weir, West Branch junior Jaxon Hendershott and Minerva senior Noah Sallade were honorable mention.

Dailey and Green led the Potters to an 11-9 season. Dailey averaged a team-high 16.8 points and 8.4 rebounds a game and shot 65.7 percent from two-point range. Green collected 15.8 points and 7.8 rebounds a game and shot 59.4 percent from two-point range.

Weir and Hendershott guided their teams to a share of the Eastern Buckeye Conference with Canton South.

Weir averaged a team-high 14.3 points and six rebounds a game for the 16-8 Quakers. He made 58 three-pointers and shot 66 percent from the foul line.

Hendershott averaged a team-high 15.0 points a game as he led the Warriors to an 18-7 season

Sallade guided the Lions to a 10-11 season by averaging 16.5 points and 8.9 rebounds a game. He scored at least 20 points in nine of 12 EBC games.
