Tigers rip on Braves

WELLSVILLE — Wellsville is all ready to go in the tournament.

Luke Green scored 27 of his game-high 31 points in the first half to put the fifth-seeded Tigers on their way to a 64-27 win over 19th-seeded Badger, 64-27, in a Division IV sectional opener Tuesday.

Wellsville improves to 15-4 and will host Lisbon in a sectional final Friday. Lisbon won the only meeting, 64-49, on Jan. 5.

Green’s big first half gave the Tigers a 50-19 lead before most of the second half was played with a running clock.

Green had lots of help. Jaxon Brewer scored 11 of his 19 points in the first quarter and added 10 assists and eight rebounds. Isaiah Greathouse totaled 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

Badger finished the season with a 5-18 record.
