Potters set for sectionals

UHRICHSVILLE — East Liverpool and Minerva’s wrestling teams will be in action in a Div. II sectional meet on Saturday at Claymont High School. Cost is $7 per session or $12 for an all-day pass.

The first session will start at 10 a.m. and will wrap up about 4:15 p.m. with the completion of the third consolation round.

The gym will be cleared for the finals which begin at 5:15 p.m. Fifth place, third place and championship matches will be contested on three mats.

The top four finishers in each weight class will advance to the district meet set for March 6-7 also at Claymont High School.

Beavers ready to make some noise

STEUBENVILLE — Beaver Local’s wrestling team will take part in the Div. II sectional tournament on Saturday at Steubenville High School. Wrestling starts at 10 a.m. When all consolations and semi-final matches are completed there will be a short break and the gym will be cleared. The first, third and fifth place matches will then be wrestled on three matches. Cost is $7 for each session or $12 for the whole day.

The top four finishers in each weight class will advance to the district meet set for March 6-7 at Claymont High School.

Area teams vying for district

ROOTSTOWN — Columbiana, Crestview, South Range, Southern, Wellsville, United, Western Reserve and Lisbon will be among the teams in action on Saturday in the Div. III sectional wrestling tournament at Rootstown High School. The action begins at 10 a.m. The top four finishers in each weight class will move on to the Garfield Heights district tournament set for March 6 and 7.
