Tigers take Buck Bailey title

WELLSVILLE–The Wellsville wrestling team captured the top spot at the Buck Bailey Memorial Tournament Saturday at Wellsville High School.

The Tigers finished with 158 points, edging second-place Beaver Local with 151 points. Salem was third with 144 points. Crestview (107 1/2) and Columbiana (101) rounded out the top five.

Picking up wins for the Tigers were Mason Simms (106 pounds), Jason Tice (132) and Justin Sarge (152).

For the Beavers, Colton Dugan was the 120-pound winner, while Dorian Jackson (138) and Payne Allen (195) were also victorious.

Winners for Salem were Jacob Frost at 126 pounds and Caiden Hart at 160 pounds.

Crestview’s effort was highligted by Collin Wonner, who captured the 145-pound bracket, while Columbiana’s Jacob Kamperman was the heavyweight champion.

Oak Glen’s Braxton Dlugopolski won the 113-pound title.

South Range’s Chris Colucci was the 182-pound champion.
