Big second half for East Liverpool girls

EAST LIVERPOOL — East Liverpool used a 30-15 second-half run to rally past East Palestine, 47-45, Saturday afternoon.

The Potters improve to 7-4 overall.

Trailing 30-17 at halftime, the Potters closed the gap to 39-35 after three quarters and outscored the Bulldogs 12-6 in the fourth quarter for the victory.

Emma Ludwig scored 10 of her team-high 17 points in the second half for the Potters. Shayla Foster added eight points and Selena Rogers keyed the third-quarter charge by scoring all six of her points.

Joclyn Fristik paced East Palestine with a game-high 24 points, 20 coming in the first half.

East Liverpool visits Edison on Monday, while East Palestine hosts Leetonia Thursday.
