Potters drop County Classic

SALEM–The Salem volleyball team defeated East Liverpool 22-25, 25-14, 25-20, 25-23 in the Kent State Columbiana County Classic Monday at Cabas Gymnasium.

The Quakers are now 15-5 overall.

Elly Exline powered Salem with 22 kills, two blocks and 20 digs, while Hayden Carner added 12 kills and four blocks.

Also for the Quakers, Jaden Hamilton had 11 kills and three blocks. Jenna McClish led the defense with 17 digs. Kaylee Freeman handed out 38 assists and also accounted for six aces.

The Quakers won the jv match in three sets. Alivia Davidson led the way with five aces.

The Salem freshman team won in straight sets. Kylie Skinner led the Quakers with 13 digs.

The Quakers return to Eastern Buckeye Conference play tonight at Canton South.

The Potters take on Beaver Local in an OVAC 4A semifinal today at Oak Glen.
