Potters draw Bears

EAST LIVERPOOL — Brennan O’Hara scored on an assist from Jacob Myers as East Liverpool blanked Oak Glen 1-0 on the Potters’ senior night at Patterson Field.

East Liverpool is 8-2-2. Cole Dailey had three saves.

Oak Glen is 6-7-5 and is at Columbiana on Saturday.

East Liverpool is at Beaver Local on Saturday.

VOLLEYBALL

Southern 3, Y. East 0

SALINEVILLE — Southern Local capped its regular season by beating 25-17, 25-20, 25-14 on Thursday.

Southern is 7-14 and will face Lowellville on Monday in Div. IV sectional at Columbiana.

For Southern, Erin Boyle had 10 points and 11 kills. Maddie Paxson had six points and eight kills. Kyleigh Ketchum had 14 assists and Cheyenne Utt had five points and three kills.

Lisbon 3, Steubenville 0

LISBON — Lisbon’s volleyball team knocked off Steubenville 25-10, 25-18, 25-15 on Thursday.

Maddie Liberati had 16 kills and 10 digs for the Devils. Callie Steed added 23 kills and 36 digs. Lisbon is 14-8 and plays McDonald on Wednesday in a Div. IV sectional at Columbiana.

Steubenville beat Lisbon 25-18, 25-15 in the junior varsity match. Trenidy Barnes had eight points for the Devils.

Wellsville 3, Jackson-Milton 0

WELLSVILLE — Wellsville played for the third straight night and swept Jackson-Milton, 25-20, 25-16, 25-13, Thursday.

The Tigers finished the regular season with a 16-5 record.

Leaders for Wellsville were Emily McNicol with 15 assists and four aces, Meaghan Nixon seven kills, Emma Smith 16 kills and two blocks, Greta Cartwright 23 assists and three aces, Jenna McNicol 35 digs, Aubri Ramsey five kills and four aces and Alana Amato seven kills and two blocks.

The Tigers will play the Jackson Milton-St. Thomas winner in the Division III sectional opener Oct. 19 at Columbiana High School.

Wellsville also won the junior varsity match, 25-21, 21-25, 26-24, to finish with a 13-7 mark.

Paige Green had 24 assists and Gia Pucci nine kills for the Tigers.
