Lisbon plans HOF inductions
LISBON — The Lisbon, David Anderson High School, Athletic Hall of Fame, in its 28th year, will induct four individuals and one football team into its 2019 Class of inductees on Sept. 21:
Charles D. “Chick” Pastore
First-team Tri-County League and All-Columbiana County linebacker.
First-Team Tri-County League, All-Columbiana County and Northeast Inland District defensive back and honorable mention All-Ohio. His 76-yard kickoff return for a touchdown vs. Beaver Local wass the ninth longest in Lisbon history at the time.
Emily A. (Smith) Brinker
(2008, volleyball, basketball, softball)
A three-sport standout, earning four varsity letters in each sport. Her awards included 2005-2006 second-team Inter-Tri County League and All-Columbiana County and honorable mention Northeast district basketball. Offensive MVP and ITCL All-Star in softball; 2006-2007 first-team ITCL, All-Columbiana County and Northest district and team MVP in volleyball and offensive MVP and ITCL champs in softball; 2007-2008 first-team ITCL, All-Columbina County and Northeast district, team captain and MVP in volleyball; first-team ITCL and All-Columbiana County, second-team Northeast district and honorable mention Division III All-Ohio, team captain and MVP in basketball and second girls player to scored 1,000 career points.
A three-sport athlete at DAHS and was “The Voice” of Lisbon football for five years and “Master of Ceremonies” for the Hall of Fame inductions for 10 years.
1986 Football Team
Lisbon’s first 10-0 undefeated football team. Scoring 277 points and allowing only 31 points with six shutouts. Defeating the second-place team in the Tri-County League, 56-0. (Missed the OHSAA playoffs by one-quarter of a point due to a teacher’s strike at a member school, causing the football team to forfeit games).
Head coach Mike Ward was Columbiana County coach of the year. Assisted by Mike Pavlansky, Mark Covell, Joe Fuline, Dan Votaw, Joel Cuffman, Ted Edwards. Eric McGaffic and Joe Siefke. Co-captains were Mark MacAleese and Terry Buckley. Lisbon dominated the TCL and All-Columbiana County teams with nine and six first-team selections, respectively. Lisbon had six selections to the Northeast Ohio Inland District team and two Class A All-Ohio selections.
The formal induction will be held Sept. 21 at the high school cafeteria. A meet and greet social hour begins at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m.
