Bears blast Barbour

PHILIPPI, W.Va. — Oak Glen is off to its first 2-0 start since 2012 after downing Philip Barbour 45-0 on Friday. The Golden Bears made the two hour and a half trip count with 484 yards of total offense.

Quarterback Nick Chaney completed 9 of 11 passes for 231 yards and four touchdowns to spark the Bears.

Zach Taylor caught three passes for 113 yards including touchdowns of 52 and 13 yards. Hunter Patterson caught five balls for 110 yard and a 41-yard touchdown. On the ground he had three rushes for 80 yards including a 60-yard touchdown. Gage Patterson had a 9-yard touchdown catch.

Paxton Shuman had nine rushes for 40 yards, while Koholton Goodlin had eight rushes for 22 yards. Evan Geisse had five carries for 43. Matthew Greenlief tallied three carries for 36 yards and a touchdown.

Michael Lemley sparked the Oak Glen defense with an interception.

Oak Glen hosts Buckeye Local next Friday.

Kenmore 19,

Beaver Local 8

CALCUTTA –Akron Kenmore-Garfield won for only the fourth time since the school came into extistence in 2017 with a 19-8 win over Beaver Local on Friday.

The Rams (1-1) had three take-aways in the first half. The Rams marched 75 yards on their first drive to score and in the third quarter Lamont Evans tallied from 7 yards out to push the lead to 12-0.

The Rams extended the lead to 19-0 with 43 seconds left in the third.

Beaver (1-1) tacked on eight points late but the rally was far short.

The Beavers travel to Minerva on Friday. Minerva dropped its 42nd straight game with a 41-24 loss to Sandy Valley on Friday.

Mineral Ridge 33, Lisbon 0

LISBON–Mineral Ridge went three-and-out on its first series, but the Rams were able to get rolling for the rest of the first half.

The Rams scored all of its points in the first half and beat Lisbon, 33-0, at War Memorial Stadium on Friday night.

Mineral Ridge improves to 2-0, while Lisbon drops to 0-2.

Jalen Royal-Eiland scored the first touchdown on a 30-yard pass from Dakota Edwards and the last one on a 99-yard interception return late in the first half.

In between, the Rams scored on a 22-yard catch by Randall Miller, a 39-yard run by Evan Erb and an 18-yard run by Shakir Perkins.

Royal-Eiland had three catches for 63 yards for the Rams, who outgained Lisbon in total yards, 304-144.

For Lisbon, RJ Schreffler ran for 63 yards on 10 carries and Joey Fisher had four receptions for 38 yards.

Mineral Ridge hosts Newton Falls on Friday, while Lisbon takes on Valley Christian next Saturday at Poland High School.
