Kinsey on to regionals

MILLERSBURG — Beaver Local’s hurdlers were up to the task on Saturday at the West Holmes Div. II district track and field meet.
Beaver Local junior Teddi Kinsey captured first in the girls 100-meter hurdles (16.2) and first in the 300 hurdles (47.72), while Beaver Local freshman James Monte was first in the boys 110-meter hurdles (15.48) and third in the 300 hurdles (41.6).
Kinsey was also third in the 200 (26.86) and fourth in the long jump (15-10). Kodi Kinsey was third in the long jump (16-0).
The top four finishers in each event qualify for the regional meet next week at Muskingum University.
East Liverpool boys qualifiers included Cameron Beverly in the 110 hurdles (third, 16.36) and high jump (fourth, 6-0), Michael Billingsley in the 100 (third, 11.44) and 200 (fourth, 23.22) and Izaiha Browning in the 800 (fourth, 2:05.72).
Minerva girls qualifiers included: Alyssa Markins in the 100 (third, 13.18), the 800 relay team of Amanda Kukunis, Julie White, Michaela Jackson and Markins (second, 1:48.89), Nelle Yankovich in the 1600 (second, 5:19.51), Jenna Cassidy in the 1600 (fourth, 5:30.56), the 400 relay team of White, Idesia Leavell, Shelby Wheeler and Markins (second, 52.52), Kukunis in the 400 (first, 59.75), Yankovich in the 3200 (third, 11:53.5), Madeline Crissman in the 3200 (fourth, 12:13.63).
