Perez earns special mention All-Ohio

COLUMBUS — Two dazzling underclassmen in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference and Mahoning Valley Athletic Conferences highlight the area’s representation on the 2019 Division III and IV All-Ohio girls basketball teams released Tuesday by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association.

Columbiana junior Kayla Muslovski was named to the third team in Div. III and Western Reserve sophomore Dani Vuletich was selected to the second team in Div. IV.

Lisbon junior Izzy Perez was named a special mention in Division IV. She tallied 16.1 points, 3.5 assists, 5.3 steals and 3.6 rebounds. She owns the school’s career record for steals with 359 and set a single-game mark with 15 this season.

Muslovski, who also was a Division III All-Ohio third teamer as a sophomore, averaged 24.0 points per game for a total of 482 on the season. As a junior, Muslovski’s career total is 1,453 points and she is the program’s all-time leading scorer. In addition, she set the school record for threes in a game with eight and holds the season record with 61 threes. She shot 66 percents from the field and added 105 steals and 78 assists.

Vuletich sparkled in her first season with the Blue Devils in leading the team to its winningest season (22-4) in addition to a Division IV district championship. She tallied 19.5 points per game and set the single season school record with 515 points. Her 293 rebounds (11.3 per game) were also a school record for most in a season as was her total of 86 blocks (3.9 per game). Against United she set a school record for most points in a game with 41. Her field goal percentage was 70.6 percent.

South Range sophomore Izzy Lamparty was a consistent performer at forward for the 14-9 Raiders and she earned a special mention distinction in Division III.

Salem sophomore Kyla Jamison was an honorable mention in Division III. She led her team to the school’s first Eastern Buckeye Conference girls basketball crown in finishing 18-6. Jamison averaged 14.7 points per game and 6.1 rebounds per game.

Western Reserve junior Alyssa Serensky was an honorable mention in Division IV. She averaged 11.5 points per game and was second on the team in steals and assists.
