Six chosen for Lisbon Athletic Hall of Fame

LISBON — The Lisbon David Anderson High School Athletic Hall of Fame, in its 27th year, will induct six individuals into its Class of 2018 on Sept. 22:

Katrina Brickner

(2002, cross country/track)

Brickner joined Amanda Mueller as the only Lisbon girls ever to score at the state track meet two years, placing seventh in the Division III 3200-meter run in 2001 (11:39.9) and 2002 (11:50.92). A four-year letterwinner and MVP in both cross country and track, Brickner was the Columbiana County and district cross country champion in 2000 and 2001. She was a three-year state qualifier in cross country, finishing 13th in Division III as as senior (in a career-best 19:30). In track, Brickner was the Tri-County League champion and record setter in the 1600- and 3200-meter runs as a junior and senior.

Kyle Crismon

(2007, track)

Crismon became the first Lisbon boy distance runner to score at State in 77 years, taking seventh place in the Division III 1600-meter run in 2007. He is the only Lisbon boy to score in a distance event since 1930. His time of 4:25.54 broke the school record of 4:26 set by Mike Kodrich in 1971. Crismon was a two-time league champion in the 1600-meter run and also set the school record in the 800 meters (1:59.91) at the 2007 Columbiana County Meet.

William Hartman

(1968, football)

Hartman was a stalwart on the line at center for the 1967 Blue Devil football team that finished 9-1 and shared the Tri-County League title with Minerva. They were ranked 11th in the Associated Press Class A state poll. His senior year, Hartman was first-team All-Columbiana County and second-team Tri-County League at center and received the Dr. Seward Harris award as the school’s outstanding male athlete.

John R. Krotky

Krotky was the principal at David Anderson High School from 1981-2000. Following his retirement, he volunteered as girls softball coach and held OSHAA certifications as a volleyball, softball, and baseball referee/umpire. He died Aug. 18, 2017, at the age of 88. The John Krotky Lisbon Kiwanis Scholarship is given yearly in his memory to a DAHS graduating senior.

Zach Seidner

(2008, golf)

Seidner was a four-year letter winner, team MVP, posted the low stroke average and was a four-year first-team All-League. He also was a three-year district qualifier. Seidner was the individual medalist in the 2006 Inter-Tri County League golf tournament with a round of 77 at Firestone Farms, leading the Blue Devils to their first league title. He also won the district tournament, shooting a school record 32 for nine holes.

Josh Toot

(1995, baseball)

Toot was four-year letter winner and selected to the Tri-County League second team as a freshman. He was first-team TCL as a sophomore, junior and senior. He was first-team All-Columbiana County as a junior and senior. He was part of the 1995 sectional championship Team that beat Youngstown Cardinal Mooney.

Toot went on to star at Hiram College as a four-year letter winner and three-time All-Conference first baseman.

The formal induction will be held Sept. 22, at the high school cafeteria. A meet and greet social hour begins at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6:00 p.m.
