Frances Sue Poplar

EAST LIVERPOOL — Frances Sue Poplar, 76, of East Liverpool passed away on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025 at her home.

Sue was born in East Liverpool on Jan. 26, 1948, a daughter of the late Francis J. and Marjorie J. (Myers) Maley. She was a graduate of East Liverpool High School Class of 1966. Sue worked at Waterford Park and T. S. & T. Pottery for many years. She was very devoted to her family, caring for many of them over the years. Sue was a very active member of St. John Lutheran Church.

Preceding Sue in death were her husband James Joseph Poplar; brother Joseph A. Maley; three sisters, Marjorie E. Ayers, Janet A. Smith and Sara Jane Cox; and two brothers-in-law, Pat Smith and Thomas Cox.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother Richard A. Maley and his wife Becky; brother-in-law Robert Ayers and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Friday where the family will be present from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pastor Eric Edwards of St. John Lutheran Church will conduct a service at the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m. Burial at Riverview Cemetery.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.
