David Michael Pipes Sr.

David Michael Pipes Sr. passed away peacefully on Nov. 11, 2024, at the age of 60. A talented musician, craftsman, and graduate of Ohio Valley Business College. David was affectionately known by many as “NERG.”

Music was the heart of David’s life. A skilled guitarist, he poured his soul into countless hours of composition and artistry, crafting many guitars and songs from scratch. His creativity, talent, and passion for music left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

David is preceded in death by his parents, William Pipes Sr. and Dorothy Pipes. He leaves behind a son and daughter, David Michael Pipes Jr. (Mary Beth Pipes) and Shanda Pipes (Chris Young), as well as three grandchildren: Liam Pipes, Elliot Pipes, and Jerrica Lewis.

David is also survived by his siblings: Mary Collins, William Pipes (Betty Pipes), and Daniel Pipes (Marilou Bacla’an). His extended family includes nieces Alicia Pipes and Amie Collins (Scott Bloor), nephew Daniel Pipes, and great-niece Leini Bloor, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

While his presence will be deeply missed, those who loved him can find solace in the melodies he created and shared.

David’s family invites all who knew and loved him to a celebration of his life at the Moose Lodge in East Liverpool, Ohio, on Nov. 29, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m.
