Lisa Anne Ensinger

1968-2024

EAST LIVERPOOL – Lisa Anne Ensinger, 56, of East Liverpool, went home to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, after a very courageous battle with cancer. A battle that she fought with grace and dignity.

Lisa was born in East Liverpool on Feb. 25, 1968, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Rosemarie (Green) Ensinger. She was a graduate of East Liverpool High School Class of 1986; YSU, Dana School of Music, class of 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance and Eastman School of music class of 1992 with a master’s degree in vocal performance. Lisa worked as the choir director at East Liverpool High School from 1998 until her retirement and assisted with many of the school’s musicals. She was the Tri-M National Music Honor Society Advisor and served as an adjunct faculty member at Kent State. Prior to her return to East Liverpool, Lisa served as an interim professor at Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania and Point Loma Nazarene University, in San Diego, California. She was a member of the 1st Church of the Nazarene in East Liverpool, attended the Glenmoor Presbyterian Church and most recently was attending Northside Community Church. Lisa sang at many other area churches. In past years, she directed the choirs at First United Methodist Church and Longs Run Presbyterian Church in East Liverpool, as well as Third United Presbyterian Church in Washington, Pennsylvania. Lisa was a member of the Pittsburgh Opera Academy, the Ohio Education Association, the East Liverpool Alumni Association, the East Liverpool Historical Society, the Ohio Music Educators Association, Sigma Alpha Iota Music Sorority, and a former member of the American Guild of Musical Artists, and National Association of Teachers of Singing. Lisa was a proud Potter and was thrilled to conduct the last two All School Reunion Alumni Choirs. Lisa was very gracious and inspirational to many of her students. Although she won numerous musical awards Lisa was prouder of her students’ accomplishments. She was always delighted to hear about her students and their accomplishments and would gleam with pride. She especially enjoyed performing at the Cabrillo National Monument Easter Sunrise Service, the San Diego Naval Base Prayer Breakfast, a Cleveland Indians baseball game, and Carnegie Hall.

Preceding Lisa in death were several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Left to cherish Lisa’s memory are her brother Stephen Ensinger; many cousins; special friends Jim Krawiec and his wife Polly and her beloved pets.
