Kathryn R. ‘Kate’ Donaldson

1923-2024
EAST LIVERPOOL – Kathryn R. “Kate” Donaldson, 100, of East Liverpool, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024, at Calcutta Health Care Center.
Kate was born in Salineville on Nov. 3, 1923, a daughter of the late Thomas and Alice (Strouss) Ludlam. She worked at Crucible Steel during World War II. Kate worked many years as a finisher at Sterling China. She was proud to have served as the union president for many years. Kate was a member of First Church of Christ and Crystal Chapter #18 Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed quilting. Kate was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother that was very proud of her family.
Preceding Kate in death were two husbands, Benjamin C. Springer and Ralph M. Donaldson; two daughters Mary White and Yvonne Jiminez; two sons, John Detchon and Benjamin A. Springer; an infant son; brother Robert Ludlam and sister Mary Welty.
Left to cherish Kate’s memory are her daughter Barbara Myers and her husband Dale; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Wednesday where the family will be present from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pastor Chuck Adkins will conduct a service at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Burial at Riverview Cemetery.
