Tammy Rae Calkins-Bauer

EAST LIVERPOOL — Tammy Rae Calkins-Bauer, of East Liverpool, passed away suddenly Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at home. She was 53.

Born in East Liverpool, December 15, 1967, she was a daughter of Betty McComas Calkins of East Liverpool and the late Michael R. Calkins. A resident of this area all of her life, she was a member of the Beaver Local High School Class of 1986. Tammy was also a member of the Elks Lodge 258 and the American Legion Post 374. She worked at Weirton Medical Center.

Tammy loved people, especially her close friends at the Legion and the special Yuengling Tuesday’s she spent with Rick. She loved to shop for clothes, shoes and purses. Above all things in life, Tammy loved her family.

In addition to her mother, Tammy is survived by two sons, Nicholas Pittenger (Emily) of Washington, and Joey Pittenger (Matt) of Cincinnati, as well as her companion, Rick Hickey. She also leaves behind five grandchildren: Kennidy, Valerie, Elena, Owen and Madelyn, along with a nephew, Keegan Calkins, and a sister-in-law, Milli Calkins, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her brother, James D. “Jimmy” Calkins, her father Michael R. Calkins, paternal grandparents John and Jane Calkins, and maternal grandparents Kessel and Sudia McComas.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Sunday where the family will be present from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Masks and social distancing are required.
